Mini Painting.

Hi guys,
Just a quick update on what am painting. I am painting a Mini and I cant stop, as its acrylic and the paint dry’s so quickly am drawn to it all the time, the time am finished of what I want to do with it I have had enough of painting for that day. I will continue on my oil paintings as soon as this one is finished.

The reason for painting in acrylics, is that am working on all my own oil paintings at once, then it takes about 3 days to dry so I thought ill start a painting with acrylics in the mean time while the others dry, but it has taken over! Am sure you will like it as I have shown it to family and friends and its all thumbs up from them.

Its a British racing green, it has the Mini badge in the top right corner and the background will have the union jack. It will be available to purchase from www.davidrobinsonart.co.uk

Busy, busy bee

Hey guys! :-D

I haven’t bolged in a while as I have been so busy with college work people who are reading this in FaceBook will know how much. So what have I been doing besides college work? Yes painting! My third painting, that I have been putting off has come a long way nearly finished in fact, it also has my new technique of shading and shadows and to me is looking brilliant it makes my first two look plain I could add affect to my first ones, but am keeping them as they are so you can see how much I have progressed over the months. I have also been painting my experimental piece which also looks very interesting and last but least my BIG painting all that needs doing is the background :-D

Today I have continued to paint, but also done a bit of my college project which involves clay, well I think its clay, I opened it and it made my studio like a hospital. Once I finished what I wanted to do with my college project I made a little figure of my little piggy’s hope you like, keep in mind it still needs to be painted and it's 1 inch high:-D

Hey guys here is my T-shirt. I have found one thing wrong with it and I think you can see from the above picture that the picture on the T-shirt is not center, I spent a lot of time on the net placing it right in the middle and they mess up, I think I will have to make a phone call and see what they have to say for themselves. You can see in my earlyer blog that the image was center. The picture underneath is what it should look like.

A productive day.

First on the list finding out what's happing with my t-shirt for my site. Well I received a e-mail from them today saying its been dispatched keeping in mind I bought it on the 18th of this month I thought the delay was the postal strike, nope its how long they take, it best be good after this long!

Second, DO SOME COLLEGE WORK! And I did :-D

Third thing to do and the last, touch up the nose on Where Have They Gone. I have always said that I wasn't happy with the nose on that painting and I left is as I didn't want to destroy it, but with my new blending skill to hand I went for it and am very, very with it now I may give it just one more layer before it goes on the wall to stay. Also as this one is going to get reproduced I wanted it looking its best and boy you can see the difference, if you have seen it before and thought it was good check it out now (full) at wwwdavidrobinsonart.co.uk and click on gallery.

I Need To Paint!

The title explains it all really, over two weeks now and I haven't put brush to canvas. I have been looking round for some decent turpentine as the last stuff eat my brushes, the stuff I want is called Zest It, its none toxic you dilute it with water, I think and its friendly to the environment, but I can only find it on line and they want over £5 to send it which I think is a lot, also with this postal strike I don't know when I would receive it.

Talking about the postal strike I haven't received my t-shirt or the paper samples so that is slowing the process of what I want to do so in the mean time an going to do some painting, am off to Hobby Corner to buy some turpentine hopefully some environmentally friendly equivalent.

Friday Is Here!

Well another Friday is among us and I have had a grate week! I have a new website, there will be 25 limited edition prints of Where Have They Gone and I have just designed a t-shirt with Where Have They Gone on the front, but depending on the quality I don’t know they will be for sale as they are pricy and I don’t want to be selling crap, please excuse that last word, but I don’t know how to put it any other way. So in the following weeks/months I will be keeping you up to date of all theses and I’ll start with the prints.

I have been in contact with a company that specialize in reproducing art and they are very pricy hence only 25 prints. What is happing now, they are sending out some sample paper so that I can choose what one I want, then I have to send the original off for it to get scanned and what not. The original is a 40x40 cm on canvas and the prints will be 30x30 cm with a 2cm white border, well that’s the plan. They will be sold as mounted only as framing will cost more and more likely to get damaged in the post.

Have a good weekend guys :-D

Woo Hoo I have A Web Site

davidrobinsonart.co.uk

The reason I didn’t mention it in my recent posts/blogs is that I didn’t know myself. Three days ago I wanted one so I done loads of research on how to do them and today it was done. Am quite pleased with myself as I had to make everything and I mean everything no templates I had to make my own icons and resize my images and then I had problem with getting it to the sever……….bla……bla.

So it was finished until someone pointed out that I miss spelled gallery, if you look on the top gallery is different to the other fonts and I forgot what one I used, but for now it stay’s put and only the gallery page will be getting upgraded when I have new, finished painting.

Please note guys you don’t put www. It’s just davidrobinsonart.co.uk the way I have set up my sever or should I say the way I have been told to set up, there’s no need for them, so NO WWW.’S!

I have been told by a few friends that my front picture on the site would look cool on a t-shirt, what do you think? Hope you like the site guys keep in mind it’s my first time and it only took 3 days to make.

If you haven’t already noticed my second piece is on there I hope you like it :-D

Today I started painting the big canvas with the new technique and wow, what a difference!

As I was happily painting along listening to Shropshire radio I noticed something wasn’t right, it felt different painting on the canvas, it must be me getting better at painting because of the new technique, so I carried on. It wasn’t until I sopped painting I noticed something about my brushes, half the bristles were missing! It can’t be the way am painting because I have always used my brushes like that before, so it must be the canvas, but I have painted on loads of canvas so it can’t be that either, then it hit me I have recently bought a cheap bottle sprits from Tesco’s, the rolla cola one and my poor brushes have suffered from it, so I can say I wont be using that any more and need to buy new brushes. On the up side the painting is looking good, am chuffed with it.
